Fudan University High School

Common area on the girls floor with laundry and water purification machine.

Walking from the high School lobby to the dinning commons for dinner.

We made it! We're finally in China. Before we got on our plane, we spent the seven hour layover, painting nails, including both of our teachers. Our flight went well despite the interesting departure time. Thankfully, none of us lost our luggage! We made it through customs with no hassle and promptly met Mrs. Jiang and our hostess Dora. We were picked up outside of the airport by a spacious bus and made our bumpy way to our humble abode, Fudan High school. As soon as we got there, we went to our rooms and settled in. Soon after, we experienced our first authentic Chinese meal. It was quite different from the traditional Americanized Chinese food that we were used to. However, we all enjoyed it!  Another struggle was trying to find the proper way to utilize chopsticks.  (Some of us had to resort to using our hands ;) ) We took a family trip to the local Family Mart for a late night snack. It's been a long day but we're very excited to meet the students tomorrow.

Today the girls will meet with their Chinese peers, visit classrooms and tour the high school campus.

Yippee...Chinese food for all. That will be one of the best parts of your memorable trip. Including learning a new skill, chopsticks. Don't come back home without that skill, Cydney :-) We miss you.
